I run the popular Sticky Marketing Conference, which draws over 5,000 entrepreneurs to the Staples Center in LA each year.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I\u2019m writing to extend <\/em><strong><em>an invitation for you to speak<\/em><\/strong><em> at our event on June 5th, 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I would appreciate it if you could give me your contact number for easier communication.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tip-3-make-your-email-easy-to-scan\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #3: Make your email easy to scan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pay attention to how you <a href=\"https:\/\/pumble.com\/blog\/formatting-messages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">format your message<\/a> to help the recipient grasp the essence of your email as quickly as possible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tip is pretty simple to follow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Just bold<strong> some words<\/strong>, or&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <strong>bullet points<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how that would look in an actual email in which you\u2019re requesting contact details:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cSince I like to communicate via phone for urgent matters, would you mind giving me <\/em><strong><em>your contact number<\/em><\/strong><em> for easier communication?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So, help your recipient scan your email so you might get their number more easily.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least, your request won\u2019t be lost in an unread clutter of words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tip-4-go-through-your-email-before-sending-it\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #4: Go through your email before sending it<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Admit it: there\u2019s nothing more embarrassing than realizing that you\u2019ve made a mistake in an email <em>after<\/em> you sent it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily, this mistake is easy to avoid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All you have to do is spend a few seconds reading through your email and double-checking if you missed anything crucial.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another step you should take before hitting that <em>\u201csend\u201d<\/em> button is to <strong>preview your email<\/strong> on your phone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since many emails are read on phones, you\u2019ll want to make sure your message is easy to read and properly formatted for smaller screens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tip-5-dont-give-the-option-of-communicating-via-email\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #5: Don\u2019t give the option of communicating via email<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Be careful <strong>how you phrase your request<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of asking <em>\u201cDo you prefer communicating via email or phone?\u201d, <\/em>clearly state:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cFor sensitive or urgent matters, I prefer communication via phone.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The former question gives the recipient a choice, and it\u2019s more than likely that they will opt for an email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the latter request, you clearly state that you would use their phone number only in certain cases \u2014 time- or otherwise sensitive.
