Default channels may be those related to company&#8217;s policy, culture, the ones where important and confidential info is shared, or anything else you and your team find essential, or of relevance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">This feature is available on all plans and can be used by workspace owner or admins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you&#8217;re setting up default channels for your workspace, it&#8217;s important to note that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only public channels can be set as default channels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All members are automatically added to #general and this cannot be changed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guest users aren&#8217;t automatically added to default channels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the default channels in the following way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on your workspace name at the top left corner of your desktop screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hover over <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>General settings<\/strong> from the dropdown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the arrow next to <strong>Default Channels<\/strong> to expand the group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add new channels users will join by default<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong> to complete the action<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" select up to 25 default channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your company&#8217;s priorities or policies changed and you need a different setup for onboarding new members, you can always change the default channels, add new ones and remove the exiting ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">This action can be performed by workspace owner and admins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove the default channels in the following way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on your workspace name at the top left corner of your desktop screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hover over <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>General settings<\/strong> from the dropdown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the arrow next to <strong>Default Channels<\/strong> to expand the group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click
