With the Pumble AI assistant addon, Workspace Admins can connect a workspace to an AI provider, and users can communicate with it within Pumble. You can use the AI assistant addon privately by messaging it or mentioning it in a channel/group DM.

For the Pumble AI assistant addon to work, you must have an AI provider (Gemini, GPT, Grok, etc.) and connect it to the addon via an API key. Only owners and admins can connect the workspace with an AI provider.

Configure the AI Assistant addon #

To start, add the AI Assistant from the left sidebar. Here’s how to do this:

  1. Click on + Add apps
  2. Select Install next to the AI assistant addon
  3. Acceptez les autorisations

 If the AI assistant addon is already installed in your workspace, you just need to authorize it.

Next, you will have to connect the AI model by using the API key.

  1. Click on the AI Assistant in the left sidebar
  2. Ensure that you are on the Home tab
  3. Click on Configure provider
  4. Select an AI model
  5. Paste the API key
  6. Click Configure to complete the action

Communicate with the AI Assistant #

Once the addon is configured in your workspace, you can send prompts to the addon by messaging it. Here’s how:

  1. Click on the AI Assistant in the left sidebar
  2. Open the Messages tab
  3. Write your prompt in the message box

When you send a prompt to the AI assistant, it will give you a reply to that prompt in a thread. This response is only visible to you.

Mention the AI assistant in channels or group messages #

The Pumble AI assistant addon can also respond to your prompts in a channel or a group direct message. You can send prompts to the AI assistant by mentioning it in the channel/group DM, and the assistant will respond in a thread. 

Before you mention the AI assistant, you will need to add it to a channel/group DM. Here’s how:

  1. Open a channel/group DM
  2. Tap on the members icon in the top right corner
  3. Select Add people
  4. Search for the AI assistant
  5. Cliquez sur Ajouter pour terminer l’action

If you don’t add the AI assistant to the channel/group DM, once you mention it, the message box will appear with the option to add it.

When the AI assistant is added, you can send it prompts by following these steps:

  1. Open the channel/group DM where the AI assistant is a member
  2. Type @AI Assistant in the message box
  3. Write your prompt

The AI assistant will respond to your prompt in a thread, and all channel/group DM members will be able to see it. 

Summarize thread content #

With the Pumble AI assistant, you can summarize thread content and quickly understand the point of a conversation without the need to read everything. Here’s how you can do this:

  1. Open a thread you want to summarize
  2. Type /ai-summarize in the message box
  3. Send the message

When you use the /ai-summarize command in a thread, you will receive a temporary message that summarizes all the thread content. This message is visible only to you.

The AI summary can be used in public channels without adding the AI assistant as a member. However, to use the AI summary in private channels and group DMs, the AI assistant must be added to the channels, just like any other member.
