Quote Messages
Easily reply to specific messages by using the Quote feature. This works across all channels, including 1:1s, group DMs, and public or private channels. You can quote messages within the same channel or thread, provided the quote remains in the original channel where the message was sent.
How to Quote messages #
- Hover over the message you want to quote
- Cliquez sur le Quote button
- Write your reply
Or use the keyboard shortcut: right-click + Q.

You can click on a quoted message to get redirected to the original message.
Mentions and notifications #
When a message is quoted, the user whose message was quoted will receive a notification. Also, the quoted message is visible in the Mentions and reactions section. However, if a user quotes their own message, it will not be shown in their Mentions and reactions section.
The quoted message is a snapshot of the original and will not change if the message is later modified.
