– Bojana Vojnovic
For fast-growing startups operating across different countries, communication can make or break success. Without the right tools, information gets lost, decisions get delayed, and agility suffers.
That was the reality for Klever Cargo, a logistics company launched in 2023. With offices in Amsterdam, Novi Sad, and Bratislava, and a team of 30 people, the company connects shippers, transporters, freight forwarding companies, and warehouse managers in real time.
Their platform helps businesses book each other’s services more efficiently and fairly, creating transparency across the supply chain.
As a Head of Marketing and Operations, Bojana Vojnovic explained their main mission is to digitalize the industry of transportation and enable companies to have contact with the whole supply chain.
But for Klever Cargo to deliver on this mission, their internal collaboration needed to match the efficiency they were promising clients. That’s where Pumble came in.
As with many startups, getting the right internal communication processes in place wasn’t simple.
Their team of 30 employees worked across multiple cities and countries while also juggling relationships with third parties.
From the beginning, their biggest obstacle wasn’t execution — it was how to keep communication organized, centralized, and actionable.
As Bojana explained, effective communication was especially hard in the beginning:
“When I say that communication is the biggest challenge, I mean organized communication and focused communication that actually solves problems. That is especially challenging in this process of building something from scratch and testing multiple markets where we need to test fast and effectively, and we need to either move on or double down (depending on the results), and be super agile.”
In practice, this meant that the Klever Cargo team often found itself scrambling through countless emails and scattered chat apps to find necessary information, documents or decisions:
“There are things that sometimes get forgotten, misunderstood, misinterpreted, or a combination of those things. Luckily, we are very agile but [organized communication is a topic] of ongoing work and improvement.”
They knew they needed to migrate to a business messaging tool built to support all their communication needs.
Pumble: built to support businessesAt first, Clever Cargo tried to make do with a mix of chat apps and email threads. But the inefficiency quickly became impossible to ignore.
As Bojana recalls, it was extremely frustrating not having a centralized communication hub:
“I remember we were talking one night about how we needed something to focus all the communication because we were going to go crazy if we needed to spend, you know, even a minute to find something. That night, we scrolled for an hour through different chats [looking for information].”
That frustrating night led to Bojana getting inspired and introducing Pumble to her team:
“I remembered that you guys launched your business communication product and thought that Pumble is something both local and global, just like us, so we decided to give it a try and see how it works for us. We started implementing the tool and its channels and groups, and we quickly saw improvements in communication.”
From the very start, the impact was obvious. Pumble wasn’t just another chat app — it became the central hub where all communication lived, eliminating the guesswork of where to look for key information.
When asked about her favorite thing about Pumble, Bojana states — versatility:
“Pumble helped us both with collaboration and communication. Now we can solve things faster — we can solve something in the chat, or we can jump on the call really fast. We don’t have to organize meetings, go through lists, etc. That’s one of the Pumble qualities I love — it offers a combination of everything.”
Let’s take a look at some key features of Pumble that made the biggest difference for Klever Cargo.
Organized communication was the first priority for Klever Cargo, and Pumble’s channels solved those challenges directly.
Instead of mixing dozens of topics into endless chat threads, channels allowed the team to structure discussions around specific topics, projects, or clients:
“The first feature I like is definitely [the ability] to have channels that have their own topics, so whenever we need to talk about something we can go to that specific topic.”
Bojana also adds that, along with public channels, private groups can be beneficial:
“Furthermore, I like the ability to have private groups. Even though we are super transparent with each other, sometimes, there are some things that need to be communicated between a small group of people — not because we want to hide something but because we don’t want to make anyone worry about something until we’ve figured it out what it is.”
With separate spaces for different conversations, the Klever Cargo team spends less time searching for information and more time acting.
Also, with private chats and groups, sensitive issues can still be handled privately until solutions are ready to share.
Organize communication with PumbleAs a connecting platform in logistics, Clever Cargo naturally works with numerous external stakeholders — from agencies to contractors to partners.
That’s why guest access in Pumble quickly became one of their most valued features.
Bojana highlights that guest access is the main reason they switched to a paid Pumble plan:
“That’s basically the reason we went from free to paid. It’s not the unlimited memory or this or that [feature], it was the ability to have multiple and single guest channels. That way we can connect with our partners, agencies we’re working with, and all the people who are not in-house.“
Instead of relying on messy email chains, they could now invite third parties directly into Pumble while still controlling what information those guests could see:
“Guest access lets us actually select what they can see, in which discussions they can participate, and in which not. That helps us to move really fast and maintain privacy and protect everything that needs to be protected when it comes to business operations.”
This balance of openness and control allowed Klever Cargo to accelerate external collaboration while keeping sensitive business data secure.
Collaborate with external partnersFinally, Bojana shared her personal favorite — Pumble’s smart notification system.
While notifications may sound like a small feature, they’ve made an unusual impact on how she manages focus and time.
Namely, she uses Pumble’s notifications as a make-shift alarm clock for meetings that drag on:
“Sometimes, when I go into meetings, I mute my notifications for, for example, 20 minutes, because I know the meeting shouldn’t be longer than 15. So, if I start hearing the Pumble notifications, I know, ‘Oh, boy, this meeting is getting out of control!’ So, maybe it isn’t an official feature, but for me, Pumble functions as an alarm clock as well!”
